I am often asked by my customers why they haven't been able to sell their car privately. I can tell you in most cases it comes down to price, presentation, poor photos or poor description. I recommend that you look online at most of the car selling websites and gauge your dealer competition. Please keep in mind that dealer cars in Queensland include on road costs, stamp duty, and GST in their pricing (unless noted otherwise). If you are a private entity i.e. not registered for GST purposes, your advertised price does not include any of the above.
If buying from a dealer, a purchase of a $70,000 car for a gst registered business means they will be able to claim over $6,000 for gst included in sales price.
There is no claim on a private sale so you must factor this into your pricing to stay competitive.
I will be able to offer a free service to assist with pricing of vehicles and possibly sell them for you if in Qld, but I implore you to look at the competition first and please understand that $20,000 worth of aftermarket accessories does not add $20,00 to vehicle value.
